Hello Sunrise Community,

I am so happy to be an official Sunrise Eagle and I am honored to serve as the Sunrise Principal! I am eager to meet or reconnect with each of you and learn about your goals for this year!

I was born and raised in Washington, and I was a Northshore School District student. During my educational experience in the Northshore School District (NSD), I decided that NSD was where I planned to spend my career in education. My husband and I are raising our four children in the Northshore School District as well. 

I studied at Western Washington University (WWU) and the University of Washington (UW). I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Education Degree, my K-8 Elementary Education Teaching Endorsement, and my P-12 Special Education Teaching Endorsement from WWU. I earned my Master of Education Degree with a focus on Special Education - Teaching Students with Low Incidence Disabilities from UW. I then later returned to WWU for my Principal Certification. 

My administration experience includes five years as Assistant Principal of Woodin Elementary School and a few weeks as Interim Principal of Sunrise. I taught as a special education teacher for a total of nine years at Cottage Lake Elementary, Northshore Middle School, and in the Highline School District. I also worked as a substitute paraeducator, a Head Start bilingual assistant (I speak Spanish), and a preschool/childcare teacher while in college. 

Sunrise is a special community with students who are eager to learn, dedicated staff, and supportive families. Sunrise Eagles SOAR: Strive to do your best, Offer Kindness, Act Responsibly, Respect Self and Others.  I am eager to begin building relationships with each of you here at Sunrise!
